CSU football players and alumni are charged with bank fraud; 7 people, 5 of which are current or former CSU football players, were charged with bank fraud on September 6, 2006. According to the Larimer County District Attorney’s spokeswoman Linda Jensen, “This has been an ongoing criminal investigation since November. “It went to a grand jury in February, and it is still an ongoing investigation.” The class four and five felonies range from theft to identity theft to forgery. The bond for each defendant is $2,500. Late Tuesday, arrest warrants were issued for Adakole Brian Ike Abata, Robert Bruce Herbert, Micah Lamar Crews, Daniel Aaron Foster, Preston Louis Garcia, Tramell V. McGill and Calee Jo Chleboun, the lone woman charged in the case. Crews, Herbert and Abata were identified as the current players on the CSU football team, and both McGill and Foster as former players. On Wednesday, September 6th, CSU announced that the three current players have been suspended indefinitely.
