There’s never a dull moment around Boston Scientific lately. The New York Times reported on 1/27/06 that, just after winning the bidding war against Johnson and Johnson for the purchase of Guidant, Boston Scientific received some very bad news from the FDA. The FDA issued a warning relating to safety procedures that was expected to delay the introduction of new products, citing Boston Scientific for repeatedly having “failed to advise the government of serious safety products with its devices, as well as quality-control issues at factors,” a warning that applied to every device made by Boston Scientific.
