Firefighter's Wife Sues For Accident That Killed Husband

Comments Off

Michael Lynch, a volunteer firefighter, was killed while directing traffic after a car accident on US 50. Christopher Gunja was traveling over 50 miles per hour when he slammed into Lynch, who was thrown 136 feet due to the force of the collision.

Lynch’s wife has filed a lawsuit against Gunja and his parents.

According to cbs4denver.com’s article about the accident lawsuit:

Under Colorado’s Family Car Doctrine, Gunja’s parents, Joseph and Denise Gunja, can also be held responsible for damages, because they owned the truck involved in the incident and gave their permission for their son to drive it, according to the lawsuit.
